William Nicol Ltd provides a wide range of specialist industrial services such as industrial and marine tank cleaning, waste oil recovery, interceptor cleaning, drain jetting, and waste disposal.
Started as Nu-Clean Ltd in the 1980s and later merged into Willam Nicol when Bruce inherited his father’s truck business, it quickly became a recognisable name for delivering quality industrial services.
Managed by Colin Lumsden, we now have over 20 employees who are a mixture of Operations Co-Ordinators, HGV drivers, Industrial Services Operators, and Technicians. All of whom are at your service to find solutions to your challenges. Below is a range of our typical services, but we always try to solve your problems even if out of the ordinary.
Industrial Tank Cleaning
William Nicol Ltd is a specialist in the cleaning and degassing of industrial & marine tanks.
Whatever the size and contents of your tank – hazardous or non-hazardous – we have the expertise and methodology to carry out the project efficiently and safely.
In addition to cleaning, we prepare the tank for inspection and, if required, we can arrange for any necessary repairs to the tank and if needed removal.
Interceptor and Drain Cleaning
We provide interceptor and drain cleaning and emptying services for a variety of industry sectors including engineering and automotive.
It is vital to the environment that interceptors are regularly emptied and cleaned in every 6 months. Without such servicing, oil, silt, debris and other contaminants would build up and, in time, could cause pollution of watercourses and flooding.
Storage and Management
With a total capacity of 8 million litres allocated to client use, we have over 50 vertical and horizontal storage tanks with capacities ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 litres. All tanks are bunded in accordance with SEPA regulations.
You can choose from a wide variety of tanks to suit the particular needs of your product, including carbon steel, stainless steel, epoxy-coated, Celmar-lined and GRP with polyliners. We manage and blend to suit your needs.
Waste Disposal
William Nicol Ltd is licensed to transport and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
You can rely on us to collect waste from your premises safely and efficiently using our specialist equipment and vacuum tankers. We transport the waste to our licensed waste transfer station in Portlethen where it is processed. We recover and recycle as much as possible and any residual material is then disposed of in accordance with current legislation.
Waste Oil Collection Service
William Nicol has over 20 years’ expertise and experience in the collection and treatment of waste oil.
It is a key part of our industrial services business and we continually invest in researching and improving our waste oil recovery methods.
This oil can then be re-used in a variety of applications. The water extracted is purified to enable it to be disposed of safely in accordance with waste disposal regulations.
Industrial Cleaning & Chemical Flushing
We also offer general industrial cleaning services. Our clients span a variety of industrial sectors and the services we provide include the cleaning of garage forecourts, fishing boats, spillages e.g. on factory floors, condensate coolers, decommissioned pipelines, tank bund areas etc.
We provide our general cleaning services on both a contract basis and as one-off projects, and we operate an emergency response 24/7 service.
